Its hard to run above 100 in the Northeast, think I had my old X up to 100 once in the 4 years I owned it.

I would agree when you start looking at taking your X (an SUV) north of 125 mph, I would have a Z or a ZR rated tire underneath you. I have been running Pirelli PZero Rosso 315's front and rear on 10.5" rims. This way I can rotate front to rear and get more mileage out of them as they wear more evenly. Also I have backed out the rear wheel camber as much as possible!

I just wish I had somewhere around her I could really open her up, or at least get to the 155mph limit... I was able to hit 162mph in one of my old ford broncos. That truck was a beast when I was done with it, woulda beat the hell out of the 4.6is, and that isn't the easiest task for a big heavy suv with mud tires.

'79, '90, '96 bronco man myself - the '79 I did the headers, dual freeflow exhaust, Edelbrock intake, & Holley 4-barrel (351 V8) - stomped on it once at 65mph to get away from an 18-wheeler on my bumper (I295 in NJ) - Well the 4-barrel kicked in and it was like dropping into warp-drive - by the time I had gotten over the shock, the speedometer had wound completely around to 30mph (no pegs on the speedo back then) AND it was still pulling - when I thought to look back, the 18-wheeler had disappeared far, far behind me - that was back when the national speed limit was 55 and the speedos only went to 80 - ran Dunlop Radial Rovers which ran very quiet for an aggressive tread & were good in snow (back when NJ actually got snow)

as for weasel being a mad man, he is from the south and if i learned one thing about the south in my 5 1/2 years of attending college in GA, is that when it comes to mud boggers (more of a southern term for off roadin) they are a little bit more crazy than most, but my buddy did put a 350 in one of his jeep wranglers (new englander)

Don't criticize mudding until you've done it, it's actually a ton of fun
