In-Car Phone

My 2001 X5 is fitted with a Siemens in-car phone. This phone is large and cannot be used away from the car. I wanted to replace it with a more "normal" mobile and bought a Sony Ericson T610 and BMW cradle (Part No: 84.21-0 304 298.2) off Ebay but cannot see how this can be fitted in replacement for the Siemens - anyone any idea? If it does not fit, then the Sony phone (which works fine as a stand-alone phone) is up for sale.

Yes, the Siemens is fitted in the arm rest of the centre console. Just lift the top of the arm rest and it pops up. There is a small stubby aerial nest to it. I'll take a photo and post later.

the centre piece should pop out... is there an eject looking button at the base of the unit (near the hinge of the armrest)?

im assuming that it looks like the iphone one, and they are common eject buttons, just different shapes for different phones
