05 side miror wobble
my driver side mirror, the folding part is wobbly, ( i searched) how would i go about tightening it,
i tried putting a credit card underneith where that plastic part looks like it would flap down, didnt work do i have to remove the tweeter pannel and go threw that whole ordeal i just bought it and its bugging the living shit out of me if anyone has links (with pics would be better) to a detailed DIY would be great i couldnt finda any |

I have the same issue. I thought I could tighten the screws at the bottom of the mirror and they weren't even loose. I'll be waiting to see how I can get rid of this problem too

05 X? still covered by warranty? i suggest bring it to the dealer and let them fix it...

you have to replace the whole mirror I was told. i have the same issue

Bah! Replace the whole mirror? My wife's is loose too. I popped the trim piece off the bottom and tried to tighten the torx bits to no avail.
I was going to take a closer look tomorrow. |

Well on our X5 it was the torx bits on the bottom of the mirror after all. I was using the wrong size bit the last time. It's snugged right up now. I believe they were T10 size torx bits.

On mine it grinds and slips also when opening or closing almost like the gears to move the mirror are stripped
|

Just got the same problem on my 05 X5. Tighten it with a Torque? It's not covered by the extended warranty, is it?
