Don't Bother Buying Warranty Direct for a 3rd Party Warranty

Warranty Direct makes it sound so appealing that if you get their bumper-to-bumper warranty that you are totally covered........ WRONG!!!!!

Everything I have had them cover they have covered except their guide in which they use to justify labor time is always off (GO FIGURE) and you always end up paying out of pocket!!!!! They also make is sound like if you cancel their policy you will get a pro-rata refund.... WRONG!!!!

Thats only if you have not had any claims. I paid $3288 for 4 yrs 100,000 mile with 0 deductable.. Within in the 1 yr and 2 months I put in claims for $2190. I was quoted over the phone by 2 different cust service reps that I would get $1100 or so back if I cancelled. So I cancelled and now they say since I put more in claims then what I am owed I get no refund!!! I think it is a load of crap and warn people of their shady business tactics. Sorry needed to vent!!

Sorry to hear that. I bought a secure+ from WD about the same time you did. I knew it wasn't going to be just like the original warranty but I haven't been really conviced it has been worth it. The X has been realiable besides the minor creaks which I brought to the dealer and got charged(given). I don't recall paying for warrantied parts(cv boot and thrust arm). If I was to do it again, I probably would have just kept the money and pay as it goes instead of anticipating WD guaranteeing my next claim. I think WD wouldn't really be any different than any other warranty company. They might actually be one of the easiest to work with and probably a good investment to those who've had big claims.

as for me, i have nothing but thumbs up for WD, i already had almost $4K done on my X and they covered everything, except of course for the deductibles (most i paid in a visit is about $100)... 60K miles now on my X, and covered 'til 10/2012 or 100K miles... so what else can i ask for?

Hmmmmm... what am I to do now?... I was considering a quote of $3986 for 4 years bumper-to-bumper with no deductible. Maybe I'll just keep the money under my mattress.

Hmmm ... $4K is a lot of coin. For example, let's say the car is worth $16K. Well that would mean the warranty is 25% the value of the car.

To each his own and you know your situation better than anybody - but cash is King, especially now.
