Updated for more punishment! Yes. I'm the guy. What are they worth?

I'm the guy who takes care of the ultra low mile X5's that have come up for sale.

Yes, I realize it's a very strange thing to have 2003 X5's with under 100 miles on them.

That said, I'd like the opinions of the membership here as to what a reasonable selling price would be.

4.6is models. '06 spec 20" wheels instead of the 5 spoke 20 inchers. Flawless and virtually brand new. Imola red or metallic black. Black interiors. Loaded like any 4.6is would be.

Don't worry, I won't be insulted, but I'm curious as to what the real money is on these things. It's very difficult from my end to put a number on these but I would like to see if we can get a few sold.

Come on.

Hit me

Gar

Why? Why buy them, not use them, and then sell them? don't get me wrong; they are lovely; and if I was in the market for one, you would be the first place I would look.......

My low mileage 4.8is was only in the low $30k range...I'm guessing no more than $35k, and then you'd have to find someone who wants the older x-drive and engine management in the 4.6is over the much improved equipment of a 4.8is for the same money...Sorry to say, but these will never be collector cars in my opinion, and I'd hate to think what problems you might run into with a car driven only 60miles over the past 6 years...

Hi Gar. it's cool to see you here.

It's very hard to put a price on the 4.6is models, due to the majority of people in the market for the highest spec'd X5 wanting the 4.8is. Rightly so, the 4.8 is greatly improved over the 4.6is

Additionally, the facelift of '04 puts the pre-facelifted models in a very different price bracket, to the point where most people looking for a pre-facelifted model are on a very different budget. This puts the 4.6is in purgatory, so to speak. You'd have to find a totally mental individual who prefers the pre-facelifted models (like me)

So, personally, I think they're worth about 2-3k more than a loaded 4.4 of the same year. As for the mileage, add another few thousand and hope for the best but as I said the market for high priced -e70 vehicles is in the 4.8is

Also I think the wheel change hurts you more than helps, as the stock wheels were a major selling point for most people interested in a 4.6is

Can't help with a price point, however my 2cents is that your chances are probably better if you can attract overseas buyers. I once sold a low mileage '03 4.4i to a fella in Miami who purchases cars and then sells them to overseas markets...i was fortunate to actually sell at or above market. According to the buyer the X5's (E53) were in demand, especially Japan. It was definitely one of the easiest transactions...and before you even entertain it, no they're not from the Nigerian Royal bank...

If you're interested pm me and i'll dig for his contact info.

I'd buy the red one, all the doom and gloom on low mileage cars is not always true and given the area you live I would take the gamble. The problem is the price is way to high for me. Given the economic times and potential for trouble the car is probably worth less than a more used one. As a general rule problems with new cars happen in the first 3-5k and this one still has that potential.

If the price was sub 30k I think you would have my attention. The 4.6is is unfortunately not the most desirable model given the higher reliability of the 3.0 and the better performance from the 4.8.

Good Luck selling it and keep us posted if the price comes down, I would make the trip to see it.

Thanks everyone. I realize that we're way optimistic in pricing, especially on the 4.6's. Got a load of 4.8's to unload as well. Same story.

No.
There is no explaining it.
