I just won...
a set of Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme 275/40/20 winter tires on Ebay. Gearing up for some major snowboarding this season. Decided to just stick with 20's...a couple buddies have these on their performance SUV's during winter months and they performed great on trips to the slopes last season. I'll let y'all know how they handle on the X...

Tell me about it...they were the only set i could find online under $1k. Got into a last minute bidding war as expected but managed to pull through. The speed index is rated @ vmax 240 km/h (150mph)...but i'd like them to last as long as possible so will only be using during winter seasons.

There's a Rover Board where everyone is talking about using them year round!
I swear they are quieter than the Diamaris. I have had them up to about 115 and everything seemed normal (cleared to 149). On the snow and a little ice, they performed as expected and the car as well. (I pushed hard on purpose in a parking lot)

Just posted in the Finish Line Wheels thread my experience with the replica wheels that the Vredestein's were mounted on. They handled great on the 2 hour snowboarding trip, minor tire-noise at 80+mph. Found an empty lot with ice and snow so tested them out...and they handle great

Circling back for an update: took another trip to the slopes and drove through 1-5 inches of snow. The Vredestein Wintrac 4 Xtreme's handled like a charm as I maintained a speed of 45-70mph on a variety of road conditions. The CEO (wifey) was worried on some of the partially plowed mountain highways as we saw possibly 10+ accidents...but i was determined to snowboard some fresh powder...
...the tires were very responsive. This will now be my preferred winter setup. Needless to say, we made it to the slopes and had a great time
