Help with parking brake

just bought a AC schnitzer e-brake handle and im having trouble finishing the install.

I can take the boot off and the old handle but I can't seem to get the old plastic release button off. I would like to replace it with a nice new chrome one but so far it doesn't seem to be going that way.

I've tried to twist it off but it just keeps spinning.

heat it up a little with hair dryer and twisting and pulling at same time.

Yeah the problem is not the actual handle, its the thumb button. I can't seem to get it off.

Use Heat to get it off, or use a Dremel and cut it longitudinally
