Can extended maintenance plan be added to a CPO vehicle?

Just bough the 06 X5 two weeks ago 42000 on the clock. Did not add extended MP. Can it be added after the fact?

yes it can. shop around at different dealers though, some will definitely try and rip you off on the cost.

Was too expensive when they offered it to me. Like 1300 or so. At least I thought it was expensive. Anyone got opinions on its worth? I would consider it. They wanted to sell me a 1250 dollar wheel warranty. I told them I could buy a new set of wheels on Ebay for less.

Imo, if one can get a brake job and oil change out of Ext Maintenance,
then it may be worth it, or close..."wheel warranties" are all over
the place in terms of what is really covered via various dlrs. Some here
report good results on the wheel/tire deal, others say pass.

The advice to shop hard on Ext Maint is a good one; that $1300 for Ext
Maint. sounded like a reasonable crap shoot.

The follow up question, should I add it? I believe it was $1800 from the stealer where I bought it. They also said it was non negotiable.

It is negotiable. Check the thread link I posted above. And yes, do add it.

It was negotiable when I bought it because I initially didn't want it so they lowered the cost of the Extended Maint. It is worth every penny - consider the cost of even basic maintenance of the X5 and the plan will pay for itself. Plus , I have found my dealer works the CPO and the Extended Maint. together to get alot done for no cost to me.

I was going to add it but held off, now looking on here it makes sense. It is CPO'd for 6year / 100k miles. Looks like Macon is the best deal (no tax as well). My ride is at stealer now having a ding, cracked wood trim, and two tires that I missed before buying it. All at now charge!!! Stealer is pretty good to me doing this after the fact, but seeing I bought a new M3 at the beginning of 08 and then the X, I suppose they figured they should make good. I will inquire about Maint. program tomorrow and let the gang know!
