Slide out package shelf

Hello all
I'm shopping for an X5, it will be hard to find what I want but I'm looking,
anyway, do the X5's have the same PIA slide out in the rear compartment that I have in my 528iT, if I dont keep 50 pounds of stuff in the back it rattles like the bugger on anything but a smooth road.

It's an option so, no, it's not always going to be there (if you're talking about the sliding load floor). I have it and mine doesn't rattle at all. Good luck in your search and show us pics when you get it!

Mine does not rattle either. But I believe it is pretty rare to find.

Well, I'm glad its an option, perhaps the X5 I find WON'T HAVE IT, I find it useless in my wagon..........(could they have improved it to not rattle?)

I was worried of the same thing. We recently purchased our 06' X5 and I did have some rattling in the rear that was driving me insane. I lifted the sliding deck and found all the spare tire components just thrown around the spare tire and not placed back and locked in their designated places. After I did that, I hear no rattles. It's actually pretty secure. Ours if fairly tight in place and requires a little strength to pull it out and push in back in. If you don't feel you need it, I'm sure you can easily find many without it. I look at it as the ultimate tailgating option We go to many Met and Yankee games (my fiancee is a yankee fan ) and a couple Giant games each year.
