dash noise
hi everyone...i have 2005 cpo x5 4.4 sport/prem package with 17k..just noticed a weird noise coming from dash, drivers side, but cant pin exact location.sometimes it sounds as if it is coming from underneath the drivers side foot well behind dash and somtimes it sounds as if it is behind the instrument cluster...it sounds like an a vent opening is trying to close or open..like when you change the vent direction from feet to face it is almost like an exhaling noise...you hear it approximately every 20-30 seconds and the noise lasts approx. 1 second..that is the best way i can describe the noise...any help...thanks rob..i edited my original post because i stated it only happened when hvac was on but it happens when hvac is shut off..sorry...thanks rob

Hmmm, sounds like a new noise to me. Not one I've heard of... Are you still under warranty? Only 17k and 3.5 - 4 years old, if you still have warranty I'd bring it in to the dealer and make sure you get someone to hear it before you leave... whether it be the SA or shop foreman.
