As far as I know, correct. Although I vaguely remember reading somewhere that it may have happened real late in '03, not sure though.

It happened with the 2004 models. In North America, the new models generally come out in September/October, so it was Sept 2003 for the first facelifted models. That is not necessarily true in other parts of the world, as some jurisdictions mandate that the model year matches the calendar year.

mtX5 - what kind of angel eyes do you have? They look amazing.. I assume CCFL but what brand?

ya they are CCFLs, I got them from Dave @ Custom Angel Eyes / AngeliBright. It was a complete headlight setup. You can see more pictures here http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...tom+angel+eyes
