I know it wasn't on your list of three choices, and the MDX might be a little bland compared to the X5, but reliability wise, the MDX is the choice.

look at the forum of these x5s.. nothing but problems/ many lil annoying things go bad plus not cheap to fix if you cant do it yourself

Every vehicle has problems... that is a given. And the tech that moved to VW from BMW said the V-dubs have just as many, if not more problems. Bottom line is the more stuff a vehicle has and the more trick each function is... the more things there are that can go wrong.
