1,The fan humming noise is bad FSR.
2,Bad blower motor makes a squeel noise like belt slipping

how do I choose from the two? whats the difference between the automatic and manual? wifes car I don't drive it to often

Manual = 3 knobs for the various operations of the AC.
Automatic = buttons instead of knobs, LCD display showing the temperature and fan speed.
