another Engine Failsafe Prog
Got this message a few days ago... then "DSC Inactive" a few mins later, with the "4x4" and "DSC" lights came on. Switch off / on the engine help to clear them, but it returns shortly after. Anyways, the workshop tracked it down to the airflow sensor. And at the same time, the fuel level sensor is faulty as well. Mine is a 2002 4.6is, so far I've had the following sensors failed and replaced in the last 4 months: - O2 sensor - airflow sensor - fuel level sensor Is this normal? Also, the Engine oil seem to have vanished very quickly (in about a month or 2-3k km after refilled, I have to top up 2 liters of oil). I confirmed that there's no leak. Is this normal?

The workshop isn't a dealer, but they are pretty good and trustable as they service and repair my other 2 friend's BMW too. My X5 is out of warranty, so the dealer will put me in a long queue and charge me a bomb.

That oil consumption seems a little strange..Did you get under the car and move your hand inside the metal skid plate? sometimes you can have a leak and it will drip down and hit the skid plate and the oil won't actually make it to the ground. So if you looked at the ground you wouldn't see any oil spots really..

Yes. I checked inside the skid plate too... no sign of leakage.
