or if you don't want to mess with the doors i know some members tried spraying anti freeze in there or carried around a blow dryer. And try to park the drivers door in the sunlight.

its is a pain. I had to climb over from the passenger seat/back seats (whatever opened) a few times. I'm just too lazy to do anything about it. But then again, where I live it doesn't snow much so I guess I didn't experience it as bad as you. But if its a constant problem, definitely get it fixed!

now i have the question on that post ... any pics or looks about what it says:

"There is a bowden cable that
attached to the door handle. Clean this cable and lubricate with axle
grease. Get a thick rubber surgical glove 1mm (blue is the usual color)
and cut a cinger off of the glove. Fit the glove onto the cable, zip
tie 1 end to the cable, fill the finger with grease and zip tie the
other end closed. "

i quit cant get it

This is what I do every 2 weeks in the winter months:

1. Get a can of silicone spray. I use Jig-a-loo from Home Depot. Dupont Teflon spray from Lowes works good too.

2. Pull open the door handle, and spray the lube in the little holes that are exposed.

3. On the side of the door, pop off the little rubber cap and do a quick spritz of silicone inside that hole as well.

No freeze ups since I've been doing this. I agree it's a poor design on BMW's part that we even have to worry about such a thing.
