All that aside, if you change the springs, you will need to change the dampeners and the anti roll linkages all at the same time, or it will ride like crap. I am guessing your rebound is already horrible, unless you have some really serious shocks on the car now, given all that extra weight you added at the ends of the axles and the decreased travel from riding the tires so close to the fenders. I would suggest switching to coil-overs and moving the perches. Whatever you do, you will probably have to correct your camber, if it doesn't already need that with 285s.

The "LOL" should have made my tone more clear....obviously it did not and now
someone did get snippy.....sorry to have offended you, honestly.... I am not in to getting in to useless arguments on forums. That is not what they are intended for.
I am not clear on where I changed my mind, nor am I clear why you think I may be confused. From my first post to my last my goal has been clear and consistent. Because I wanted a different looking X5, I have installed larger tires. I also want to add taller springs with a firmer spring rate. I do suggest that you re-read before posting so aggressively (and incorrectly). You stand corrected.
Thanks for the suggestion, I have considered coil overs..... but they are expensive. Also, depending on the coil over, the highest setting may still lower the car, so I am trying to see if there is another option.
