Nexen tires?

Has anyone used these tires before?

Nexen mfg. from 2 locations, china & korea, ....find out the county of origin ...... if they are from Korea they are decent (on par w/ Kumho), if its mfg. from China I would stay away.......

No first hand experience. When buying my Advans I pointed these out to the tire guy (because they were so low in price) and he said don't even think about them. This is from a local reputable tire shop.

I didn't bother to ask why. Maybe they're crap or maybe he just wanted to sell me the Advans. I don't think its the latter because I was already purchasing the Advans when I asked about them.

BTW .. those don't look like the SUV tires. The Nexen SUV tires are Roadian HP SUV:

After rolling on Goodyears (on my Rodeo) for ten years, I needed tires in a hurry one day and all that were available were Nexens.

So, I bought them, thinking that I would get rid of them later if they were as bad as the dealer said.

They turned out to be ultra cheap, super quiet, shed water great, wear well, and overall give me a great ride (on my Rodeo). Compared to the Nexens, Goodyears are crap.

Follow-up on my Nexen Roadians I put on the X.

With about 5K miles, they are quieter than new, handle just fine in the dry and wet (I don't push the X5 too hard, but on twisty roads like I-40 Between Knoxville TN and Sylva NC, most sports cars have trouble keeping up with me).

As of now, I have no complaints about them - especially for the price.

Is your X5 black? Wife and I were heading back to texas from raleigh,nc back on oct. 3 and seen a black X5 haulin some serious ass through the twisties in the smokies on I-40. Didn't bother trying to keep up as I didn't want to get any tickets, plus we had the kiddo with us. What a great stretch of highway to have fun on. Kinda wish we brought the 540, but an 18 hour road trip would have been kinda cramped. I was impressed with the X5 on how she handled the mountains. I was using sport mode that whole way through the smokies. Def. put a smile on my face.

Nexen aren't that bad. The X had the N7000 when we purchased and they handled pretty good. I went with Arttoro Az800. Good tire put noisy as hell after a few thousand miles. I may go with Nexen for the next set. I can't see spending $1000+ for tires. I was on a budget for the 540 and bought a set of N3000. I'm impressed for a cheap tire. I was used to michelin pilot sports AS plus so it's very hard to compare. Overal not a bad tire if you're on a budget.

I've been using nexen on both 540's and the 550.

N3000 and N7000

The N3ks are more all season / street. (DD)
The N7ks are more summer than all season. (performance)

All in all they are VERY good tires for their price and i don't regret buying them one bit.

Im not sure how they are on the X though.

I put NEXEN N7000 on my wife's Lexus. They looked good, offered a smooth quiet ride and handled better than the old Michelins we replaced. Unfortunately, I can only offer a short term report because I sold the vehicle at about 7k miles into them... yet they still looked and felt brand new.
I would consider them again.
