I will check my part numbers when the dealer did my upgraded kit but i do not remember seeing this in my engine bay. does this plug into anything? You state 12V (12 volt?).

Does this work on the 3.0i engines too?

Is this the right part number ( 11 61 0 390 846) I looked it up at the link below but it did not find the part number

The 3.0 seperator has a different design. But yes there is an upgraded insulated version for it. Its actually more common then the 4.4 version.

Oh, i see! Do you have the part number? I remember the master tech say something to me about an insulated version but it did not look like this "blanket".

When i get home tonight i will post all the parts that the dealer changed out in the upgraded kit in Dec. I was going to do it last night but i had to chase around a 3 yr old...lol

it should be a factory addition to Canadinan X5's with N62's as I'm experiencing this same issue with mine (idles a bit rough but roughness disappears when engine is under load)

380$ for a heated blanket for a part located in the engine bay to fix a cold temperature problem????? Oh brother... this is the most ridiculous fix I've ever heard. Whats next... in hot summer days , will we need to wrap ice packs around some other part so it doesn't overheat?
Gio - "Hunny , get the ice packs."
Hunny- " For the picnik?"
Gio- " No hunny , how many times will I need to tell you , it's for the X...."
Hunny- Oh, ya .....right
