heat guns produce very hi temps and can melt through a lens in no time. be sure to move it along the edge and not stay in one spot. if i were to do this, i would prob start with a heat gun.

I guess that could be a good to do it.. But cant find that knife in Norway, which means ordering it and having to wait for it.. Hmmm..'

Do you have a pic of the knife.? Is it the scalpel one.? And what do you use to seal them back up.?

Yes I recommend a heat gun. Thats what I have used with no problems. Just use a low setting and hold it about 8-10" away.

I opened my headlights several times usine a flat screw driver and a razor blade... you just have to do it very slowly and carefully

Okey, maybe ill try it with a razor blade then.. I guess its difficult to make any severe damage to the headlight using that.

Also, i have a headlight to practice with now.. At least the lower parts...

Do you have to push it in between the base and the front cover to get them properly seperated.?

And what do you use to get them back together.?

Yes you have to keep pushing as the cover tends to go back in place.

.... but there is a very important thing, the weather here is extremely hot all year long so I think this is what helped me to open them easily. The OEM adhesive was very soft and elastic.

Anyway there is no harm to try... good luck

That a good point.. Its not too warm in Norway these days.

There is about 1,5m of snow outside, and pretty cold. I bought the X before xmas as my first 4wd, and now that all the snow is here, i have the x in the shop for repainting.. Typical..

I guess its worth a try anyways, so ill give it a go.

Thanks.
