Dietz Video Multimedia Interface - 1260

How many of you have this? What are your thoughts? Can you play DVDs while the car is in motion? Do you need an additional DVD player, or can you just use the Navigation DVD player to play DVDs? If you need an additional unit, what are you using? Thanks!

I have a similar product, but not the Dietz.

It's great!

Can you play DVDs while the car is in motion?

Sure, at your own risk of course.

You cannot use the DVD nav drive. A video source is required such as a DVD player or video iPod.

If you need an additional unit, what are you using?

iPod video 60 gig
More on my setup

You can't play DVD's with the navigation system. It doesn't work like that. E-mail EAS with your questions. Those guys are top shelf.

The 1260 is BMW Specific A/V device, meaning you will need a separate DVD player (or preferably an iPod) as a host. After installation - press the clock button for +5 seconds and you instantly enter Video mode.

Can the 1260 be used to play iPod music as well or do I have to keep my silverline setup?

1260 units provide an A/C channel to the NAV setup, these have been since discontinued by Dietz.
