Kashew, Search Tab is your friend...here's one link I pulled up:
http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...a-battery.html

Some of the Optima-style deep cycles don't fit exactly.
Fwiw, I still think a new batt., with regular Battery Tender attention,
overnight a few nights a week, will keep it humming for quite some time.

Battery Tender.com :
Batterytender.com - Home of All Your Charging Needs

BMW sells one, too: it has the roundel on it and costs
a tad more. There are similar varieties, also. I have 2
BTs: one is 10+ years old and keeps 3 m'cycle batts
fired up, so I don't think BTs "wear out".

Batteries: oem at the stlr, of course for those that like
paying bust out retail + 30%, or get one at your local
Pep Boys, AutoZone, Batteries Plus, etc.

And, without being the librarian's assistant, you can punch in
Replacement Battery in Search Tab and read pages of battery info
threads...

I did do a search before I made this thread...

I meant what kinda deep cycle model should I get? I guess the consensus is a Yellow Top, but aren't there different models of that?

Get what fits. If it doesn't fit properly then you shouldn't use it.

No, I choose it based on specs, warranty and fit. Fit is kind of important as I don't want it rattling around in the trunk while connected to a pyrotechnic charge.

Kashew, somehow you missed the boat and the deep cycle zealous haven't shown up to tell you exactly
what DC batt to buy...but, a quick, simple Search shows threads of suggestions, if you don't want
to go with a std replacement.

See this thread, PM "Chefwong" and ask him about his Optima.
This is not hard stuff...I feel like I'm writing book reports for the lazy.

The reason you feel like you're writing book reports for the ULTRA lazy.. is the fact that you are... I find it annoying as hell when someone posts a question without doing a search and then is rude about it.

This thread I find particularly annoying:

http://www.xoutpost.com/classifieds/b...i-can-buy.html

I suppose the next step is that one of us has to go to the dealer, buy it for him, and then come to his house and install it.
