My work orders at the dealer always reference a TSB whenever it's applicable. Can you check yours please? TIA

What a difference! The much-talked about hesitation from a stop is gone, as is the mysterious "phantom rear ending" type sound/jerk when accelerating on a steep hill. The thing just seems smoother to me through the entire torque curve. I'm no expert but it sure feels better.

Just an FYI for those of you with '04 and '05's. SF BMW told me this software was coming pre-installed on '06's.
Still waiting for that software version #

Updated too

I had my '04 4.4 in to have a mirror replaced and complained of downshifts on downhills when in 'D' as well as a rough start with Check Engine light last wekk.
They updated the Trans S/W and the Engine Management S/W- nice difference on the trans here as well- much smoother.

Hmm...trans software sounds like a good deal. Very interested!

Is it possible, if I just go down to the dealers and say I want a update on trannys? Cause my X is currently down at the shops anyway, but unsure if I need an actual software version#.

When Did this version become installed by BMW

I think someone allready asked (with no answer), when did BMW include this software for the factory?

I don't get this Forum, you guy's go on and on about silly things but can't answer a simple question.

If we don't know, we can't answer, can we?

And, yeah, have a nice day to you, too.
