Why our X's have more problems...

Funny story, and afterwards it dawned on me as to why our X's have more problems than normal.

Story starts like this:

I've been hearing a noise out of the back rear drivers side. It's a noise that sounds like the suspension is having issues, like a soft grinding noise. So I take the care home to my indie which is in Pennsylvania where my parents live.

I take my dad for a spin and he can't even hear the noise, he's like what are you talking about? He's not hard of hearing or anything, just could not hear it.

So after convincing him the noise is there he finally starts to hear it.

Then it dawned on me, this is why our X's have more problems that normal. We notice them, we try to get everything fixed, make it perfect, where as 95% of the people drive on happy and don't think twice

E61Silver is an unknown quantity at this point
I always listen to my car and fix them, I also believe in replacing batteries when they are 4 or 5 years old. The result is that the cars have never left me stranded.

I see & hear people driving cars with belt noise wheel leaning, low air bet they are headed for trouble. I don't understand why cops in NYS don't ticket these unsafe cars.

bd3500 you are absloutely right..we are fanatics and i mean that in a good way..you are right most people just go about there business and live with the noise or put the radio on..i have spoken to numerous people who have had problems with there cars whether bmw or not and they have said i feel embarassed bringing the car to the or well its ok it is only a car...well that drives me crazy we spend good money on our cars and mr.bmw is already wealthy and for as long as i can i will be a thorn in there side if my car has problems

I totally agree. There are 2 other x5 owners around my place and they all have pre-face lifted x5's and have never had any problems or any squeaks or anything. But I keep hearing squeaks so I took them for a ride and they couldn't notice it at all either.
