HBX5 is on a distinguished road
the 2002 manual says,
"Removal and installation - rear
To remove the head restraint, pull it outward with a firm movement. To install it, press it down firmly."

I had the same problem in my 4.8. My daughters car seat was causing and indentation on the center headrest. I just pulled the headrest straight up and it came out with out any problem. No little button needed.
