On an unrelated note, I wonder whether I should trade my X5 up for a newer model. As I mentioned Inspection II is coming up; I need all around brakes; and probably 4 new tires this summer. Will also need to re-tint the vehicle and change driver side rear view mirror as well. Should I just do all these or should I use money to upgrade my vehicle so I am once again under 4 years/50K program. Thoughts?

Hey you have a good point and you got me! I tried to make the post as clear as possible, but unfortunately still left some ambiguity. Sorry about that I'll fix it. I also included all the relevant attachments so anyone can read about it themselves. But to answer your good point, BMW always considers whichever has expired first, whether it's been 5 years or 60,000 miles. It's too bad, b/c I think it would have been a kick-ass deal for you.
As far as trade in is concerned, if I were you I'd look around to see what interests you and see what you can get for your money and consider what the car has already cost you and what it might cost you in the future to maintain. Resale/trade in isn't great, but maybe buying a CPO with low miles is more cost effective for you. Sounds like a numbers game to me. Quote:

In case I was lying, huh?
Yes the extra grace period is called the extended enrollment option, like I said before. Don't expect anything special from the dealers even if they are desperate for business. If they did their job perfectly there wouldn't be much need for boards like this. Quote:

Thank you for your help. If it wasn't for this board (and your post), I wouldn't even know the program! |
