Anyway, does anyone have a good link to parts I can use? What are OE pads and rotors?

Thanks!

Got part numbers from BMW

Rear Pads: 34216761284 ($106.07)
Rear Rotors: 34126765458 ($92.47)

20% off if purchased by mechanic.

Does anyone know if the below set up will work? Or are they crap.. The price is right when compared to BMW parts from the dealer.

eBay Motors: 2000-06 BMW X5 Rear Brake Pads & Disc Rotors OEM E53 (item 220389728576 end time May-03-09 12:25:09 PDT)

Interesting timing as my brake pad indicator just came on at lunch yesterday. I'm at 87K miles--last time at 60K miles I did all 4 pads but just the front 2 rotors. Went to the indy today and pads and rotors upfront will be $425. Called the dealer just for laughs for a quote---$900--ha. I'm guessing the rear pads and rotors are ok but the indy will check. With the weight of this thing it doesn't surprise me but it seems the pads and/or rotors need to be done every 30K miles.

Is your indy going to use OEM pads and rotors? Or aftermarket for that price?

They are Bosch certified (they do all European cars) they get the parts directly from the dealer so it is OEM from what I know.

Go with OE BMW parts. That ebay listing is a joke.

Are BMW OE rotors from Brembo and/or Zimmermann? Almost every part sites are making this claim...any truth to it?

I've never seen that claim. What sites are you referring to?

FWIW, I got all 4 Centric rotors with two sensors for $307 including shipping less than a month ago. OEM prices are way high and the bonus of the Centric rotors is that they have black painted hats so you won't get the rust that is inevitable with the OEM rotors. They are an excellent quality part and probably better than OEM. PM me if you want the place I got them from.
