4.8is Shutter at idle?????

2005-2006 4.8is'ers,

Anyone ever experience a engine shutter (rough idle) shortly after (30-60 seconds) start. The shutter shakes the truck.....like a huge gust of wind comes across the car? Happened 3 times in my long 3 weeks with the truck? No other hesitations or hiccups?

Any thoughts?

it scares the piss out of me....when it happens

I've never experienced it.

How many miles on your X? When it shutters does it feel like it is going to die? How long does it last?

I have a 2005 4.4 and have also noticed this problem but it disappears when the engine reaches temp. The misfire is so lite but noticable, my X still has CPO, is the Lever replacment covered under this warranty?

Weasel will become famous soon enough
The intermediate levers are part of the valvetronic system that gives you variable valve lift. There are some cases where the minimum lift is too low due to some wear and levers replacement is what would be called for in that case. The levers are #5 in this link.

If CPO doesn't cover them you could likely get the repair goodwilled as you are a new customer, at low mileage, and have CPO coverage anyways.

Also here's a quick video overview, enjoy!
