You can try wreckers asides from authorised BMW dealers, which are everwhere.

I've got a couple of wreckers here on the Gold Coast that I've already checked out whilst looking for a wrecked X5, mainly a 4.6 or 4.8, but to no avail. I would've thought though that the number of X5's in Sydney would far outweigh what we have here and for that matter even Melbourne would have more thereby increasing your chances of coming across one in a yard. I'd start with 'ol mate Google and then register your interest with as many yards as you can and let them know the particular make, part(s) etc you are after. Don't just sit back and wait, get in their face every week and you might just get lucky. Good luck.

BTW, what spare parts are you specifically referring to ??

Unless someone stateside can help you out it's you and your newly stacked wallet off to your nearest BMW dealer unfortunately.

I presume you've looked at the BMW SAV Items for Sale - X5world page and or sniffed around the Nav System pages.

I've dealt with a few members already in the States and as long as you can deal with postage & handling costs it's a good option as they have heaps more stuff at their disposal.

I think that you'll find that very few crashed X5s end up in wrecking yards. Most so-called write-offs are purchased from the insurance companies and rebuilt by repair shops etc
