hi, today i turned on my front defroster for the first time since purchasing the car.
The fan turns on MAX speed and blows scorching heat!, i cant turn down the speed of the defroster or the temperature, am i not using it properly or is there an issue? Thanks |

Mine does the same - think that is how it works. Typically I will defrost it real quick with that and then to maintain it I will use the top vent button that blows the air upwards.

if you press front defroster, it will blow on max
if you want to reduce it, just hit the vent with the person and the up-arrow. this should be windshield venting (no direct air on person). this setting is more popular in europe, as the region does not like direct air blowing on them (unlike the US, where we need air blowing directly on us). |

you would figure that in a 50k car it would allow you to control the temp and speed of the defroster.
i use the top blower to deal w. it but the side windows still fog up a bit. |

to the Arrow Up position, adjust temp as wanted, push the A/C button and, lots of dry air cranks at the windshield...for additional defrosting, push both the "Up Arrow Button" and the "Mid Level Button", which will direct some warm, dry air at the sides, too. That Defrost button is a temporary Max setting for high level fan & very quick defrosting. Temp controls can and will adjust temp on Any setting of HVAC. All this amazing info can be found in that black book in your glove box, aka The Manual. GL,mD
