Disable front passenger air bags

My daughter is nearly 4yrs old and I'd like her to sit in the front passenger seat.

Is there a way to disable the passenger airbags to make this possible?

thanks

1. Not recommended by any authority
2. Can only be done by BMW on these cars
3. I don't know what the legal requirements/implications are in the UK for you or BMW
4. They might refuse to do it altogether
5. I would personally advise you against it as well

Side note, get a rear entertainment system and she'll never want to leave the rear seat until she starts driving. Contact member Acedeucy!

i have 2002 X5 and needed airbag control system reprogrammed because they can deploy at any time so keep your kids well away from airbags. the fault is common and brought to my attention last week during dealer visit . previous visit was november so service bulletin must be recent .

Your receipt should show the bulletin number, can you tell me what it is?

I've had mine done, its a 20 minute job. They just reprogram the airbag module.

You can check for recalls here: VOSA - Vehicle Recalls

I believe you, I'm just saying that it doesn't seem to come up as an SIB, maybe it is a different technical bulletin or something.
