To Do or Not to Do...Is the question.

This weekend I'll be doing my spark-plug change on my 2004 E53, I did my oil change 3 weeks ago part of my 2nd inspection. I'm also calibrating all the items that we should do as part of the 2nd inspection or 100 km.

Oil/filter change

Spark Plug change

and checking of other fluids as per the dealer.

I was going ahead and going to change my Trans oil and Differential fluid but after going through crap load of threads and speaking to Service rep at the dealer I'm in 2 minds.

If come across threads stating not to touch these fluids as they are life time and that after doing changes people have come across problems..kinda bring the fact of don't fix something that's not broken.

The Service guy at the dealer said he's seen this also, and the reason is that over time these fluids build up a certain velocity that is good for the trannny and differential and changeing the fluids is actually detrimental to the system, and why you see people haveing problems after changing.

Kinda like a pickle in its pickling fluid, puting new water will kill the taste of the pickle.

Some thread said that will doing these changes you actually may have sediments that in perfect distant from being harmful dislodge and get into the system....

So now I'm thinking what shall I do????? Do the Tranny and Differential or not?

My power steering fluid and is a nice cherry and my brake fluid is a nice Honey colour shall I leave them for next year?

The X5 will be with for 2 years this June I bought a certified series, they changed the Pads and Rotors when I bought it don't know if they did a complete bleed, but the fluid does look good.

The Power Steering fluid is quit good looking too, shall I leave it for another year?

Now the Coolant I'm not sure it does look good but I did add some occasionally, should I do a flush? If so does any one know were the bolt is and a DIY?

So Just looking at some of your thoughts on what to do and what you guys did...
