problem with Folding mirrors! and minor engine questions

I have a 06' 4.4i X5 with 21,000 miles. i bought 2 months ago with 19,000 and its been fine until yesterday. i came home and routinely parked it, however when i pressed the button on the drivers side door to fold the mirrors, they would fold but almost immediately the left mirror would unfold into normal position and a second later the right mirror would open up again too! the problem kept happening they would fold then unfold every time! please advise me on what i could do or what the problem may be, thank you!
also, because i am somewhat of a novice to the bmw community (i've been trying my best to learn through the forums) i was also wondering, when i drive the x5 and floor the gas, it seems as though the engine would almost stall for a second and it would jerk is this normal? i have a friend who tells me this is a problem with the transmission, that that true? all the while it seems as though the x5 occcasionally is a little sluggish, i saw a post on that a few months earlier, but at the time i was not familiar with the x5 to note any difference, solutions to the problem? thank you so much!
