Hey all, getting a slight hesitation after shifting gears when rpm's are down and only when feathering the throttle?? 01' with 98 thou. Never changed plugs or cleaned fuel system...should start there i guess?? Anyone experience this?? Always run 91 oct/higher-shell TKS

I get that very occasionally, and have for a few years...rare: can't tie it to any
particular condition(s), but you describe it very well. I had plugs done, (maybe
earlier than necessary), at ~65K miles during an InspII by my fave indie, along
with fuel filter. It did it before then, and it does it still...

Fwiw, I run whatever gas brand/octane is handy and on sale. I don't give that
sensation much thought or worry, but who knows?!

even though it's manual shift, the computer still meters out the fuel - this is where the transmission chip upgrades mostly "cure" this typical hesitation - but I really don't know if they also are for the manual shift trannys.

i get surges sometimes from a standstill making it difficult to modulate the clutch. Its kinda like hesitation but not and doesnt happen all the time. If I could explain MY occurence best, I'd say the throttle is bi-polar. Normally the throttle give power to the engine smoothly. But every once in a while, for the amount of input you're giving it, the engine should be pushing alot harder. And then its like the engine says "I THOUGH YOU HAD THE PEDAL PUSHED DOWN 1/4 OF THE WAY! YOU REALLY HAVE IT PUSHED DOWN HALFWAY!" and then there's a sudden surge of power.

Diggs, you are experiencing different symptoms than I for sure....I only have hesitation after changing gears and when barely touching the throttle, but when I do press the gas the throttle response is right on. This has only happened a couple of times This vehicle still amazes/intrigues me in that it almost takes concentration to have precise clutchwork especially b/t 1st & 2nd. Same for you guys?? or am I a retard??

No...same for me. It maybe the most annoying 1-2 shift of any thing
I've ever driven. Makes my '75 HD Shovelhead seem smooth on the
1-2, . But, I try not to think about and just finesse it, esp with
my wife and/or others in the car, so I don't jerk their heads.

Wish I had the 6 spd with the slightly overdriven top gear, however.

Yup. And in my experience, when i did the cdv delete, it made things more jerky.
