Bluetooth and iPhone 3.0 update

Yesterday I updated my iPhone with the new 3.0 software. Now I can not pair my phone with the car bluetooth. When I begin the START PAIRING and the phone recognizes the BMW it will not go to the screen where I can enter my PIN. Has anyone else had this problem and can they please give me a solution. THANKS

Just a guess but don't know!

Did you remove the previous pairing from the car?

I noticed a problem after my iPhone 3.0 upgrade that the phonebook in both my E39 and E53 were loosing entries. Everyday, the phonebook on the MID was missing entries starting at A. After 3 days, I had lost all the A and B entries yet they still existed on the phone. I just deleted the pair on both the phone and the car and repaired. The phonebook is now complete on my E39, I will try on my E53 when I get home. In short, I am still able to pair after my 3.0 upgrade.

I didn't even get to the point where I could put in a pass code to pair. after being on hold with AT &T for about a half hour I somehow got it to work. What I do find is that there are occasions where the bluetooth will just deactivate on its own (for no particular reason) and I will have to repair all over again. Does anyone know a permanent solution to this?

The easiest answer to this is to first re-set your phone.

How to Turn Off iPhone - How to Restart iPhone - Restarting iPhone - Rebooting iPhone

If that doesn't solve the problem plug your phone into the computer
Open iTunes to discover the iPhone.
Choose your iPhone and when the iPhone page opens
choose restore. This should backup your iPhone and
restore default settings. Then your iPhone should re-install
all your previous information and settings including
previous bluetooth pairings. Takes a bit of time but
usually solves most iPhone issues.
