Only Key Locked in x5 - need help

Hello everyone, I own a 2003 X5 bought used ..came with one key, which key is now locked in the vehicle as I was unloading some stuff from the back of the vehicle without unlocking or disarming the side doors. Closed the back up not knowing key was in there and now I am stuck and don't want to have to break the little window. Also, I live on a ranch, 70 miles from the nearest city and dealer.

Researching the forums yesterday before I could post, there appears to be a way to do it - but nobody will state it publicly. I respect that.

Your help is much appreciated in advance.

this would be the way. Use an inflatable air bag to seperate the door from the b-pillar alittle. and then using a long flexable rod, press the unlock button on the center console, and then using the same rod to pull the door handle twice.

Unlock button on center console won't do it if alarm is going off. Thank you for your input.

Killcrap, I didn't have the right tool for the job. I thank you again for your input. Luckily it wasn't an emergency. Today I ordered a spare for $70, be here tomorrow. With the tools shown in your link, I don't doubt it's effectiveness. This happened to me a while back and pop-a-lock couldn't get in by depressing the button, but they did not try the method of pressing the button and pulling the door handles twice, etc. We ended up breaking a window there to get in.

PM one of the godfathers of this site and they will explain how to get into the X. It can 100% be done.

I would let you in on it, but I am not exactly sure how to do it. Nobody will post it openly for security reasons. That is just not somehting you want everyone knowing.

I am not really sure what you are talking about.

I am trying to tip toe around this becuase it really shouldn't be mentioned a bunch of times for no reason, but there is a way to get into a locked X5 at the rear of the vehicle without damaging anything at all. Many people here know the trick, but I don't have all the details as I have never tried it. It is very X5 specific.

Like I said, the OP should PM one of the mods for details. They will give him the directions or get him in touch with someone that can.
