I haven't had the X5 at freeway cruising speeds yet, but around town at the 30-40MPH range I haven't noticed any droning. To me, if the sound is coming from the back of the X, that's exhaust; if it is sounding like it is coming from the cabin and giving me a headache that's droning.

Good to hear! The car I have has a single 4" sewer pipe running from the V merge in the engine bay to the tailpipe. The resonating sound gets old when city driving at certain speeds. (Maybe I shouldn't have removed all the sound deadening material.) :p

Anyhow, if all you hear is a nice tone from the back, great! Now I'm really on the fence about getting this.

You might as well as get the exhaust! It sounds awesome, you won't be disappointment and it completes the Dinan theme on your X!
