ABS (rpm rate) sensor under centre console?
Hi Guys
Since I have purchased and repaired the car (salvage), I've had the ABS, Brake and ASC lights on the dash. I've had the codes read and they are: 83 Transversal accelerator sensor circuit 82 Rotational rate sensor circuit 90 Intermittent system down I have been informed that there should be a rpm rate sensor under the centre console that can cause the errors detailed above. I have removed the centre console and the rear carpet, and cant find any sign of a sensor.  I have however found two plugs that aren't plugged in to anything! Is there anywhere else the sensor could be, or am I definitely missing it?!Couple of pics: Idle Plug 1  Idle Plug 2  Under centre console where there aint no sensor!  Anybody got any ideas or suggestions??

I believe that plug should go to the DSC sensor which holds sensors for transverse accelloration, yaw rate (rotation rate) and for longitudinal accelloration (uphill/downhill etc)
It should be pretty close to the center of the vehicle (near the airbag module), and is most likely under the carpet. That sensor cluster might be just unplugged, but might be missing... see where the wiring wants to fall naturally and that may help show you where it was plugged in just by the wire shape/memory.

my bentley manual says the DSC acceleration sensor is located under centre console behind MRSIII module that is in the photo .
manual shows rectangular black box with outriggers for mounting bolts and label says bosch with bmw roundel actual location not shown.bmw alphanumeric code given is B75 Last edited by amacman; 07-04-2009 at 09:11 PM.

Not off hand and couldn't find it on realoem, but a call to the parts counter guys at the dealer might work. (as long as they know what sensor you are talking about)
They can call it the DSC sensor cluster, YAW rate sensor, transverse accelloration sensor, etc. The computer system can call it something weird that doesn't make sense sometimes...
