I have one question - it looks like these lights have H7 bulb- can I use my stock bulbs with them? My bulbs are D2S to I could use the adaptor that sells on eBay but that adaptor is only for OEM headlights - I dont think it will work with these eBay lights.

Can anyone tell me how can I keep my original ballasts, wires & D2S bulbs to use with these lights?
When i first purchased these lights from Custom Angel Eyes dave said the stock ballasts and bulbs would not work, and therefore i purchased an HID kit from him. Now that I am having my issues he said that they would work, and something about the D2S bulb fitting a little weird..but it would still fit. (too bad i sold my OEM ballasts and bulbs a long while back otherwise i would REALLY love to try it). so i guess it would fit? and the adapters might help.

i'm still waiting on his 'overnight' HID kit to me. still no lowbeams!

Otherwise I believe I have the set of aftermarket h7 xenons with ballasts left over from my old E36 aftermarket headlights, 6000k. Don't think that you could wire them up to work without error messages as you had OEM xenon, but I had them wired up in the E36 with no error messages and no problems as I had plain old halogens in there before.

Philly X5, what are the production dates on the back of your OEM lights? If they are from before 10/02 they can be opened and modified. Mine came out great, and the lenses looked brand new after refinishing via sanding down then spraying with automotive clear coat at a body shop. Didn't take pics of lenses after re-cleared before being smoked, but here's some quick pics of what I did.

here and here
I thought about the adapters but I dont think they will fit...with these lights.
I know Dolphin installed them & think he used the OEM ballasts, etc. Hopefully he will see this post and reply.
Cant open the OEM lights - that was my idea but the production date is 08/03

I wonder if the lense in the low beam housing is Xenon or halogen? Hmmm.
I honestly don't know what the difference for certain is between xenon/bi-xenon, halogen, etc. As far as I know....

Halogen - Just a plain ol' bulb in a headlight that has a simple reflector behind it.

Projector - A headlight that has a little glass lense inside of it that looks like a marble, used to focus the beam better. Can be used w/ halogen or HID bulbs.

Xenon - Just another name for HID's?

Bi-xenon - Low and Hi beam in the same headlight. Like my bike has dual headlights w/ low and hi beam on each side. If I put in a lo/hi beam HID kit in each headlight, does that make them bi-xenon?

Am I wrong on my understanding of these headlight setups?

Did you end up having to pay for shipping to their manufacturing errors, or are they picking up the tab? I guarantee if they have to pay for it, they'll be a lot more careful for each set made after that.

I have an extra set of 750iL headlights w/ D2S HID's in them...i'd love it if I could remove them and use an adapter to install them into the X.

The OEM BMW bi-xenons are the same bulb as regular xenons, but the metal blinder plate in the headlight is pulled out of the way for high beam, so the pattern becomes full.

Seller paid for returned UPS shipping so I hope next set will be better.

Still dont know how can I retrofit OEM wiring & D2S bulbs in these to replace H7... but I think I will come up with something just need to get the new headlights back.

Are you sure? I thought they were just little adapters that change how/where the tongs for screwing in the headlight attach to the housing? I mean, I GUESS i've been wrong before....but you didn't hear me say it
