Not sure what it is, but I also had a mechanic check the front end and all is tight. I am wondering if its the control arm bushings as they are known to go... Chris |

I have the same thing backing down my driveway with the wheel cranked (either left or right, doesn't matter). One clunk only.
Bushings are new per the service history (you can even see where the paint was scraped off as they were pressed into the arms). I was thinking sway bar links b/c the suspension is unevenly loaded when the clunk happens. Surprised that didn't fix the OP's issue.

I had that issue, ended up getting a new lower control arm and cv boot
