X performes better with MAF disconnected

My X has been running pretty sluggish recently. I get some engine hesitation at RPM higher than 4000. I also get a code P0170 which I still have not found the cause yet. I cleaned the MAF as well as throttle body. I also have been looking for a vacuum leak along the intake line but could not find any.
Anyway, today I decided to disconnect the MAF as a test and the car ran really good and was much more responsive. No more hesitation at any RPM. Not sure I can conclude that the MAF is bad but I guess replacing the MAF will be my next move. Any suggestion is welcome.
