Braking issue BMW X5

I dont know how to explain it but will give it a try here.

Whenever I am trying to slow down my car by applying the brake gently to bring it to complete stop at traffic lights or roundabouts, the car eventually stops but sort of jumping up a bit, i.e it does not stop very smooth no matter how I tried to gently apply the brake.......very annoying.

Brought the car to a mechanic shop, I was told that the reprograming/update the car's software will fix it and it was a "auto downshift 2nd to 1st" transmission problems (the brake pad and disc rotor are good and fine).

After running the update, the car still does not stop smoothly. contacted the mechanic again, he told me to bring car in for another upgrade.

Dont really understand it!!!! any advice guys????????

Thanks

if its an 04 or up a lot of people have had similar problems which can be solved by reprogramming the tranny software. give it a shot

Its a common problem, its referred to as the "Hard Down Shift".

Its not due to any software related issue or due to any BS that they might throw at you. Bottom line its the transmissions fluids..... do the research and you will also see it is the tranny fluid, question is, are you going to take the risk of replacing it?...
