I have a 2002 x5 3.0 L and for some reason everytime i make a left turn or right turn I hear a clunck cluck noise coming from the suspension I looked underneath and everything looks normal... anyone familiar with this kinda problem or suggest to check something specific?

Look on page three or four to see a couple of other threads on clunking. There are some answers there...

I know some others thread regarding the cluncking noise is present but from what I VE READ everyone seems to be hearing the cluncking sound at different occasion... in my case i can hear it when driving at very low speeed like at take off from my street to the other (90 degree turn) I can also hear it if I have people riding with me in the back and at take off. but not at stopping.

Is there a way to check if the swaybarlink is the cause"??

I heard the same clunking from the right side of my suspension. What happened to my car probably doesnt relate to yours but if i describe what happened perhaps it will help.
I would hear the same clunking while turning at full lock at low speed. This continued for about a year, so i replaced lower, upper control arms bushing etc. very expensive all in all and none of this fixed it.About 2 months ago I got a trans failsafe error, and my tranny died completely would not even go into park. Went to dealer and was told because I had installed aftermarket axles, somehow the right side axle came away from the transfer case, probably because they are aftermarket. Dealer re-attached it, and warned me it probably wouldn't work because transfer case or axle could have been damaged. A few weeks ago I got the same error again, took it to a shop and found out that the axle had dammage my differential. So I replace the differential and the aftermarket axle with OEM. Ya a very expensive debacle. No more clunking now though.

Sway bar end links worked for me. Replaced them Sunday. No way to tell by looking or even taking the old ones off and feeling them (unless you have a new one to try). Easy job as long as you have an 18mm thin wrench available...

I bought my parts from: http://www.dasautosport.com/

If you don't see them listed, just send Chris an email and he'll get them for you.

One of the site advertisers probably has them too. I just have gotten all my stuff from Chris b/c he is local.

I don't remember the cost, but it wasn't too bad.

Easy job too (IF you have the 18mm thin wrench...)
