4.6is calipers question

I have a 2000 bmw x5 4.4. I have 19in wheels and i wanted to know what modifications would I need to install 4.6is calipers with bigger rotors and pads? Like, will the calipers just fit and replace the old calipers or would I need different carriers for the caliper or anything else?

if produced before 4/00, you'll need to replace the brake dust shield, the spindle with wheel bearing, and the axles.

you can get away with just replacing the brake dust shield and cutting off the dowels on the hub that hold on the rotors. from 4/00 production, all the spindles are the same.

Did you notice a big difference after you switched to the larger brakes? Was it worth the trouble?

not worth it, feels the same as before, just makes my rims look small now.

I would think a good set of pads and a fluid change would net almost the same results for a lot less money.
