tie rod assembly / ball joint

so i changed out my control arm bushings and associated ball joints last night and the X is nice-a-nice, but i still have a bit of a shaking under high speed braking. i didn't change the tie rods but i am planing on it now. (else, i suspect the culprit may be warped rotors.) (i have 89K miles, only 20K on the brakes which look good)

anyhow, has anyone used the following:
Home Page > Search > 32216751277 > ES#261076 Tie Rod Assembly - 32216751277
Lemforder Tie Rod Assembly?

The Tie Rod assembly from BMW is 2x the price, and just the ball joint is about the same price.

Whats the sucess rate on just buying just part #5 - 32211096327 as opposed to the whole assembly part #4 - 32216751277

Usually the inner tie rod doesn't need replacing as often as the outer. If the inner has no play you should be fine with just part #5.

Lemforder is a pretty trustworthy company to purchase from, considering they do supply BMW with a good number of parts. I dont think you should have any issues.

Had an issue with light pressure brake wiggle at 35 + mph. Dealer says its the Thrust Rod Bushings. (?) Will have accurate info tomorrow. The stated this is the common culprit for this item between 60-100k. (I am at 53k)

I have slight play on my steering at > 40mph. Can this be due to tie-rod assembly? Also the ride quality has deteriorator a lot. I have a separate thread "Poor Handling".

Ok,
Just picked it up after having the thrust rod bushings replaced. Brake wiggle is gone and steering is tight like new. Might be an answer for others.

Bushings: 121.90 x2
locking nut: 1.75 x2
Labor: 218.00

i have some tie rod assemblies on their way. (lemforder) after i install those i will get the wheels balanced and an alignment. if theres any vibration left its rotors. i know that they are partially warped, i can feel it. so i'll be getting some new rotors anyhow. (one thing at a time though)

I just had all the front end bushings replaced on my X. I forgot about the tie rod ends and am wondering if those should have been replaced as well. My car had been doing the shuddering while braking. That is all gone now. However, it has always had a clunk when I am backing up and turning. It sounds like worn tie rod ends could be the culprit. I thought i was replacing everything in the front but forgot about the tie rod ends.... What do you guys think, does this sound like it could be worn tie rod ends?
