Try another tire shop, or just put it down to experience for choosing to deal with an unqualified repair place the first time, and buy a new tire. It isn't like there are any other options.

ok, guys... thanks anyways...

jcl, a question though... i'm trying a few more tomorrow, i'm sure there will be some qualified guys out there who can handle this job. this sams club guy didn't even look at my tire... what an asswhole... but if these guys can't, is it ok to get just that tire replaced, or do i need to replace all four of them considering it's a 4 wheel drive?

Just a thought, if your spare is new, have it mounted on one of your rims. Then buy one new tire and have your good used tire become your spare. I know that doesn't answer your original question regarding all four tires, but if it is not feasible to buy 4 new ones now, you can get away with just buying one now.
