When my window regulator failed. I ordered one from ebay and it looks oem etc but it didnt quite function as good as the oem. I compared them and the only difference was that the springs located at the end of the wire by the pully on the oem their short and on the one ordered they were about an inch vs half and inch and this made a huge diff. there was a slight noise so i took off the little bracket that you see in the repair kit and placed on my original and put the cable in and it works like new. So i think its worth to buy just the repair kit and not the whole regulator assembly. My other window is showing signs of going so i will buy the repair kit. I was wondering what to do with the moisture barrier. Mine tore into pieces. Should i buy a new one or not. Atm i didnt place it back.

Suki,
I just noticed you're new here. First WELCOME!.... and sorry for picking on you, but this thread will not find you your rdio amplifier. Try For Sale forum here, or use "search" option to find what you need.

Sorry, it was on MrBMWX5's Flickr account. The E46 videos should be similar since the window regulator design isn't much different.

I use a long, retractable razor blade http://www.preservationequipment.com...mb?w=283&h=283 and cutaway at the seam between the door and the seal itself. Peeling it off clumps up the seal and you risk tearing the moisture barrier as you did.

So my wife's X5 decided to snap the cable tonight. When this happened i wound the cable TIGHT up into the green cable real and broke the plastic piece(white piece in the kit).

Does this work? How do you install? Any guides? Good buy?
