Here's just what I got FREE for the X....
 roof mount ski box. I thought it was going to be hagged out but the owner only used it once or twice. It's off an '01 X5 and the clearcoat on the fiberglass is perfect other than a few minor scuffs. It's BMW OEM and really looks great. The only thing was he lost the key and it was locked. So down to the locksmith and $50 later, I have a perfect ski tote or luggage storage box. I probably won't use it very much but the price is right for the flexibility it will give me. I don't know what it retails for at the dealer, but I'm guessing $400-$500.

I'm not exactly sure. It's approximately 90x33x12. So it could be. I also got the crossbars as well. It may not be $1500, but after looking at the options, it looks like at least $900! Thanks for the link.

I pocked it up yesterday and had the lock issue resolved. I got it home at 5 so it was almost dark and getting pretty cold. I just divised a lift system to store it on the ceiling of my garage next to our bikes. NAZ24 supplied a link: BMW Accessories - 2005 X5 4.4i SAV:BMW Ski and Luggage Box that has the picture supplied by BMW.
