No reply yet... I'm quite sure that there is nothing really wrong, maybe a blown fuse inside the module (protecting the built-in amp) or something like that...

I still can't believe that all these expensive radio modules having the same problems -no sound after some big noises- are worn out... Problem with BMW (compared to other brands) is that it seems that nobody wants to spend time anymore to solve the problem apart replacing the suspect part by a new one! Makes me think about all these dealers (and owners sometimes) replacing O2 sensors, throttle body, HT coils, DISA and ICV valves while it was sufficient to look at the well known and considerably cheaper solutions like cracked intake boot or OS hoses... Although I'm quite sure that I'd like to get one of these 2 din brand new radios, I'm going to open my old (and faithfull until now!) radio and get a look at it.

To be honest... I didn't get the time to do it exactly for the same reasons!
+ that I had to work 2 days on the vehicle before Christmas to change some fluids, cam sensors, fuel filter, etc as a preventative maintenance and also a OS hose (which didn't had much clearance due to the LPG injectors in the way).I got a very kind and fast reply from Halston (BSW) though as I was looking for alternatives if my radio is really fried, however I have an europen system (different than the US one) and BSW doesn't has something to replace it. So, still to do it when I will get some free time. I just would have receive an answer from someone involved at BMW or in an audio shop to know if the output of the radios are protected by some fuses, it would have been very helpful...
