Anyone have XM integrated in a 2002 or older navigation X5?
Anyone have XM integrated in a 2002 or older navigation X5? I have a 2002 X5 4.4 and I'm in the process of upgrading....

#1 - upgrading the CD nav MKIII to a DVD based nav MK4

#2 - upgrading the radio module to a 2004+ radio module

#3 - Installing a bluetooth kit

#4 - Integrate XM into the car

Any help would be great!!!!

If you are going to upgrade your radio tuner to 2004+ model, why don't you do Sirius?
It would give you a clean, factory fit and functionality.

I already have my family plan with XM and I have 3 devices hooked up. One more device would only run me 6.99 and if I get sirius it's another 12.99(or whatever it costs). Has anyone integrated XM direct with the navigation in an X5...I've been searching but no luck......

Drex's XM solution didn't integrate into the Nav system (I'm not aware of any solution that does), but it is a nice clean install - see http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...icle&artid=113

question...If I have the latest radio module 05....and the latest Nav computer "mk4" with latest firmware....can I install the aux input?...Does the aux plug into the radio module in the trunk? or can I install it somewhere else on a 2002(01/02) build?

Yes, you can install the AUX input on this radio module (the nav drive has nothing to do with this, btw). It will just plug in to the radio module in the trunk and once it is plugged in you will see "AUX" as on of the options when you press the MODE button and cycle through the selections.

BMW X5's from 2003 and newer allow you to install the AUX input up front, but I'm not sure if the wiring will be there on a 2002 or not. See http://www.bmwmotorsports.org/pdf/BM...stallation.pdf

On my mission to upgrade my car's electronic I now will be getting the following in the next week:

New MK4 DVD Navigation computer to replace my MK3
New 2005 Radio Module to replace my 2002 radio module
BMW sirius equipment to allow sirius to be integrated with the OEM navigation


Soon to buy:

Bluetooth kit from AA

All great upgrades. I've done each of these to my '01 X5, with the exception of the Sirius.

Should I do the DVD Navigation and then the radio module or the radio module and then the DVD upgrade?
