Headlight Retrofit

I got some complete xenon headlamps for my x5 to replace the non xeons I have now. I can't get the resistor packs before the time I have to return the headlamps and I odviously want to test to see if they work. I was wondering if the error to check the low beam lights is saved in the computer even after the resistor pack is installed or does it clear out from the computers memory?

Thanks for all your help

I installed the headlamps in the car but the low beams don't light up. Is there anything else I have to do to get them working? I remember something about a grey wire going to ground?

Has anyone done this on a 2004 or 2005 changing the stock halogen lamps to the stock xenon lamps. Its different from a 2003 or before because the lamps just use one pulg on the newer models. I think its a matter of moving one positive wire to the right pin and grounding the balast?

All I can say is don't do anything until you know for sure, otherwise you'll be shorting out modules and all sorts of stuff.

At worst should just blow out some fuses but I agree prefer not to play with it too much. I know someone has gotten this to work on an 04 or 05

Let us know when you get it working and we'll document the steps in the Articles section. I don't recall reading of someone that has done this, but will let you know if I come across any information on this.

Good luck!!

Can someone please take a picture of the plug that connects to a xenon headlamp for a 2004 to 2005. Meaning a picture of the wires that connect to it. We are trying to decode the wires on the lamp this for the conversion and seeing one that comes already wired oem would help out greatly.

Thanks for everyones help!!!!!!!!!!!!
